Luke co-founded Merewether Capital in July 2021 with the goal of building a reputation as one of the leading small and microcap managers in the Australian equities market.

As one of the largest investors in the Fund, his interests with investors are fully aligned.

Merewether Capital Inception Fund

The Merewether Capital Inception Fund invests in micro and small cap companies listed on the ASX, with the ability to invest in pre-IPO opportunities. It employs a long-only, high conviction strategy (10-25 positions) with a focus on profitable growing companies with skilled and aligned management teams.

The Merewether Capital Inception Fund is open to wholesale investors only.

Meet the team

Scott Beeton – Director and Investment Committee Chair

Scott is an entrepreneur who has founded several successful start-up and growth businesses predominantly in the financial services sector, including Sequoia Financial Group (ASX:SEQ) and taking the business through to a public listing. He has over 20 years of management experience having held senior roles across superannuation, funds management, stockbroking, AFSL dealer services, financial advice and fintech.

Harley Grosser – Director

Harley is the co-founder and co-CIO of HD Capital Partners, a Sydney based specialist small cap funds management company and the manager of the Capital H Inception Fund.

Campbell Welch – Investment Committee Member

Campbell is a Senior Corporate Advisor at Novus Capital, focusing on micro cap companies. He advises companies on ASX listings and capital raisings. Campbell has over 20 years’ experience in financial markets, including at AMP and Challenger Financial Services Group and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

James Simpson – Business Development Manager

James is a Business Development Manager at ARC Funds, specialising in partnering with advisers and institutional allocators to deliver bespoke investment solutions across multiple asset classes.

Prior to joining ARC, James gained extensive experience at Shed Enterprises and Ophir Asset Management, supporting capital raising initiatives and client engagement across wholesale and institutional channels.
